The objective of this test was to compare the performance between an environment with SSD cache and an environment without SSD cache. In this scenario, each test was performed three times, each with a different set of configurations.
Basic test: This test will run on drives within a RAID configuration, such as those in a storage pool or SSD cache group. Data on the drive will not be affected.
SSD cache in an NAS accelerates the data flow between your RAM and HDD. In theory, it gives your network storage a leg up, serving as an afterburner. In practice, however, this apparent flame can quickly fizzle out.
